Once Upon A Time

If there’s a little girl hidden inside you that secretly believes in fairy tales then you are going to love this post!

Here’s a gorgeous Shabby Chic Cottage that I came across in  The New York Times recently. I’m sure a lot of you have seen it already but I couldn’t resist sharing it here because it certainly has me believing in fairy tales and happy endings all over again!

{photo credits: Trevor Tondro for The New York Times}

Once upon a time… there was a girl called Sandra who dreamed of living in a pretty little cottage by the stream. As she grew up, she got consumed by the usual ups and downs that life invariably brings but she never gave up on her dream.

One day she decided to renovate a 9 by 10 Ft. hunting cabin into a shabby chic haven. A place that she could escape to every time life made her craven.

The cabin was not perfect. It lacked a bathroom and a kitchenette, but this did not deter Sandra.

With a little ingenuity she decorated the cabin with salvaged finds and DIY creations. When the cottage was ready, it looked nothing less than a mansion.

In the art of creativity and design Sandra seems to be a master. In  this gorgeous white cottage she now lives happily ever after.

THE END.

p.s I’m guest blogging on Inspired Design later today, do come and say hi to me there. See U!

Oh wow! I'm in awe with that beautiful cottage. I really like that her bed is on another level. And I adore fairytales as you would know from that journal I made. I might put all the photos on my flickr.
