My New Favourite Word

I’ve just learnt a new word, and you must learn it too. It’s all kinds of wonderful you see…
Mamihlapinatapai
n.
1. A look shared by two people with each wishing that the other will initiate something that both desire but which neither one wants to start.

Mamihlapinatapai is considered to be the world’s most succinct word and one of the most difficult to translate. It originates from the Yaghan language of Tierra del Fuego.

Now, if only I knew how to pronounce it!

Do you have any such favourite words that have no equivalent in English language or words you wish existed?

My mind is just a wee too fuzzy to wrap around that word. But those ladies? Oh, how I long to be that glamorous.
