A Mysterious Table For Two

Last week I had the pleasure of discovering Andi Man’s photography. I instantly took a liking to her well composed and vivid shots. I love the colours of Autumn, so well captured by her lens.

Fall foliage is beautiful as long as you don’t have to rake it, no?

1. Hello Andi! Can you tell the readers a bit about yourself and your work?

Absolutely, well I am a graphic designer and photographer who is inspired by everything that is art, music and fashion. I hope to inspire and encourage other fused designers to start their own business as well. Everything is designed and conceptualized by myself and everyday is a art in process.

2. You’re so talented. Does photography come naturally to you or have you studied it formally? 

Thank you, and so are you! I took a few courses in school, nothing major though. I used to be in the modelling and music scene when I was younger, so believe that may have helped with some of my skills I use today, but most of it is self taught and love for the perfect "look".

3. Can you give us a little background and share any interesting experiences from your shoot Mysterious Table For Two ?

Halloween is always mysterious in a way, so I wanted to re-create a picnic in the woods, not the typical green garden brighter feeling but a chic dark fall inspired date. Believe it or not I thought of Alice and Wonderland and the musical Wicked when setting the staging up for this. Handmade White Cupcake Liner Pom Poms, burlap table cloth, homemade meringues and vintage thrift store finds. All elements that I think of when the Halloween season approaches.

4. Which photo shoot have you enjoyed conceptualizing and shooting the most till date?

Probably my shoot I did with fellow friend and designer Ashley Smart called "Whimsical Set Design", it was an adventure with all the props that we had to set up to create a look from an empty backyard at a small Florida beach home, but I love challenged and the turn our was more than we expected!

5. What motivates you? Do you have any online sources of inspiration that you frequent often?

Motivation comes from the passion inside that I have for photography and design. I love to see the results and my clients smiling faces when they see their photos, that motivates me. I get so excited with every single project, because each brings something so different and you never know what the shoot may bring. My family and friends are a huge support. For inspiration, I'm a big window shopper, I love to go to thrift stores, see vintage pieces to recreate it in a modern twist as well as home architecture and colors inspire me in everyday living.

6. Any guilty pleasures / indulgences ?

I love Starbucks, with long hours of editing you definitely need a nice cup at your fingertips! Hm, guilty pleasure those silly Celebrity magazines that always catch your eye when grocery shopping, they get me every time! ha!
