Hello, Haute Couture

As with many things lately, inspiration has been coming from television constantly due to the glamorous on-goings at Paris haute couture fashion week.

Not only am I smitten with the fashion highlights from the runways, but also with the stylish ensembles of guests and celebrities attending these fashion shows.

Hello, Indian Summer

Not complaining about the Indian summer heat [surprisingly] today, as I flip through an old Sessun catalogue with washes of colour and fabrics as light as pastel balloons

Lace with stripes, polka dots and pretty ruffles… every shot here is pure sunny day perfection!

In other news recently came across CoupoNation, which has a great collection of fashion discount coupons. A blessing in disguise for avid online shoppers like me. Check it out here.

Hello, Belle Époque

As always fascinated with the golden age of beauty and liberated ideals from the belle époque era, this Gatsby inspired photo shoot has me smitten.

The waved flapper hairstyles, fringed drop waist dresses, cute tennis girl outfits and sparkling strands of pearls are just some of the things I’m falling madly in love with from this authentically of-the-era noir shoot by Daniela Rettore.

Of English Dreams & Weddings

Have you seen Jenny Packham’s 2014 wedding collection yet? It is made of intoxicatingly dreamy gowns inspired from the Belle Epoque (or beautiful) era! And just like that a longstanding dream of an English wedding at one these wedding venues in London; dressed in flutters of silk and wisps of tulle surfaces…
Plunging backs, graceful tulle sleeves and intricate embellishments of twinkling crystals in spectrums of champagne and silver
Packham’s collection is perfectly designed for walking down the isle at a chic English wedding on a sunny saturday in June, and yet can also imagine the modern bride twirling around in gorgeousness and dancing until dawn at her post-wedding reception in one of these beauties.

Hello, La Perla

While not everyone may be excited about Valentine’s Day, I tend to fuss over it and these pretty underthings from La Perla’s new SS’13 campaign seem perfect for renewing the romance with my hubs.

The baroque glamour, soft colours and innovative shapes of this exquisite collection have my thoughts already drifting away to the sheer possibilities…

A Love Story

Two stylish lovebirds from Nikolay Biryukov’s editorial for Elle Ukraine (Sep ‘12), evoke the pain and tenderness of love so subtly in these enchanting vintage styled pictures.

Hello Summer

ASOS line up of Spring-Summer wear this year is absolutely inspiring. I especially am loving their vintage styled shoot featuring American actress and indie queen Elizabeth Olsen.

I totally dig Elizabeth’s chic and effortless sense of style which according to her is inspired by Celine, Chanel, Isable Marant and Marni.

Masculine, quirky and funky” is how she puts it. She’s definitely making waves on the fashion scene.

Hello ban.do

I have a slight obsession when it comes hair. As Lady Gaga puts it “I am my hair” and hence the need for my hair to be at it’s best each and every day. While getting pregnant was the best thing I ever did for my hair, ban.do’s range of sparkly, vibrant and unabashedly girly  accessories come a close second. It’s darker, more sophisticated look for the holidays is just perfect for all the winter parties that I shall be attending this month.

Here are some of the pieces that I’m coveting for my hair and otherwise.

Hello Bill Reid

I seem to have always shied away from discussing Men’s fashion, that is until I stumbled upon Bill Reid’s Holiday Lookbook and things instantly got sexier. See what I mean…

Damn, Bill Reid is doing it right!

p.s. Just wondering how many Miles of Style readers are guys… please say hi if you are one :)
