Hello Sunshine

Hi everyone, this is Anna from La Boheme. When Persis asked me to do a little post while she is away, I immediately new I wanted to give you something bright and colorful. Spring is here and I just can’t help to not be inspired by some cheerful images.

I enjoy seeing fun elements in interiors because they give us a great glimpse into the owner’s personality. Color, in particular is so fun to work with and I love seeing bold choices in artwork….

- Btw do you see the fearless step in the oven color choice? Nice!
Furniture….(talk about personality!)

Even a simple throw can bring a Spring-worthy uplift….

And finally, when things come together, all is good :)

Inspiration really can be found anywhere, and I hope you feel inspired after today’s post because this is such a beautiful time of the year so why not turn it up a notch, right?

Thank you Persis for including La Boheme in your quest post series! Enjoy your little time away!

Hello Amber

Hello there Miles of Style readers. My name is Amber from the blog Amber Blue Bird and I will be filling in today while Miss Persis is taking a little bloggie sabbatical. As we all know, Persis is a true connoisseur of all things lovely including fashion so I did my best at putting together a prim and proper prep look that would be worthy of gracing her blog.

All in all the mission was a success except for the fact that I did not get a single shot of my outfit standing up that did not include a very large and unsightly trash can. My photographer husband definitely dropped the ball on that one, but at least he managed to keep the over zealous ducks from pouncing on me.

If any of you are readers of my blog then you will know that I seem to attract ducks like a pig attracts flies. In times of duck intrusions its good to have a partner who will wildly chase them away.

Well that's all for me folks, hope everyone is having a splendid duck free day!

Hello Trine Thorsen

A couple of months back I had the opportunity to interview Norwegian based photographer Trine Thorsen. When I first laid my eyes upon Trine’s portfolio of work, it was love at first sight. I couldn’t resist digging deeper and she was kind enough to answer a few questions for me. Here’s the interview along with one of her gorgeous photo-shoots.

1. Hello Trine! Can you tell the readers a bit about yourself and your work?

I am a photographer for Norway working primarily with interior, food and lifestyle photography for magazines and advertizing agencies. My images are often light ,feminin, and my own work are often described as quiet and poetic. Also often described as the scandinavian style because of the wonderful light we have here. Using daylight or a combination of daylight and flash.

2. You are such a talented lady. When it comes to photography, what catches your eye the most and how would you describe your style?

I am good at spotting what I find interesting but it is hard to say exactly what it is. Everything beautiful and interesting for my eye. I especially love beautiful images, great recipes, tasty food, cute things, smart solutions, good ideas. Old design, redesign and new thinking. Rust, objects with soul and a lots of history.

3. Answer these…

You are inspired by: Films, books, great stories and all the wonderful things I see and experience while travelling.

Your worst fear is: Heights and loosing my creativity and ability to photograph.

If you had more money: I would pay of my debts and travel more!

You believe that: You can do anything if you set your mind to it and that the world would be a better place if it weren't for religion. Religion is causing all the war in the world.

4. Any tips/advice that you’d like to share with those interested in pursuing a career in photography?

Be focused, set yourself goals, work hard. Be prompt on deadlines. Be ready to work long days, evenings and weekends (it´s a lifestyle). Get your own style, don´t copy everyone else. And Good luck!

The Black & The White

I'm well aware that bright shades of orange, yellow and pink are all the rage this Spring. But at times like these; the rebel within me likes to do things differently. Which is why I was pleasantly amused to find these pictures in my mail box the other day.

Photographed by Aram Bedrossian and styled by Carissa Cirino, the shoot focuses on a fun play of prints, textures and layering while keeping the colour palette monochromatic.

Hello Tanvi

If you haven’t guessed already, I love fashion.
Although it doesn’t take me more than ten minutes to dress up on a day to day basis, I really admire women who mix and match their clothes and are able to wear a cardigan or a skirt in ten different ways and make it look like they’re wearing it for the first time.

One such fashionista who comes to mind is fellow blogger and friend -Tanvi. I admire her originality and creativity when it comes to styling her daily outfits...Like this one:

I love it when a fashion blogger doesn’t dress to impress, but ends up making an impression subconsciously; along the way… And Tanvi does just that! See more of her adventures with fashion here.

Skirt - FCUK [05']
Shoes - Moschino, also a gift [11']

A Thousand Joys

See: Utterly charming recycled silver jewellery, handmade in Italy at my lovely sponsor’s shop - A Thousand Joys.

Living in the heart of Renaissance, designer Joy Franklin’s love for historical ornamentation and mother nature is amply evident in each one of her understated and elegant designs.

In her own words, she hopes to inspire people to appreciate “the thousand joys” hidden in nature through her jewellery.

Check out her entire collection here.
