Amazing Greys

Grey is usually not my choice of colour when it comes to painting walls or picking furniture for my home. But who can argue with accomplished designer Ilse Crawford’s colour sensibilities, especially after seeing these lovely images of her London loft.

It’s a tough task for greys to break loose from their cold, industrial image. But Ilse has managed to find the warmest shade of grey that not only makes her home look inviting but also provides a great backdrop for her vast collection of books.

How do you feel about using Grey in your living spaces?

  4. I love gray for decorating! Gray is one of those tricky colors that read differently depending on the shade. I'm picking a putty kind of gray right now to paint my living room with!

  20. Grey isn't my immediate choice for walls but it tends to be my fallback for furniture. Nothing classes up Ikea furniture than a lovely coat of a pale dove grey!

  21. I am itching to try gray but I haven't yet! I would love to pair it with lavender or coral ! Enjoyed my first visit to your lovely blog - hope you can stop by soon.

  22. I agree with you that gray is not a great color to be used on walls b/c it's so dull. I like bright/warm/inviting colors.

I think gray would be better on clothes and handbags but not walls. :)

  24. Oh yeah! no doubt about it: Gorgeous! If one is willing to get out of their confort zone color wise, any color can work. As long as they're matched properly.

    Have a great week!
